Taurine is an amino acid cats need in their diet, because they can’t synthesise enough of it themselves. It occurs naturally in meat and fish, and it’s added to commercial cat foods to meet nutritional standards.
Tauracat is a simple way to add a measured amount on top — useful for home-prepared and raw diets, or when your vet suggests it.
Stir one level scoop into your cat’s food once a day, or use as your vet directs.
New to it? Start with a pinch and work up over a few days. Always keep fresh water available.
Store sealed in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
L-taurine, 500 mg per 1 g scoop. 60 servings per container. Other ingredients: none.

Read the refund policyTaurine is an essential amino acid for cats: they can't make enough of it themselves and have to get it from food. Complete and balanced commercial diets are formulated to meet the requirement, so many cats won't need more. A top-up can make sense for cats on home-made or raw diets, or where your vet recommends it. It is a nutritional supplement, not a medicine.
No. Tauracat is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Symptoms like weight loss, vomiting, heavy drinking or breathing changes need a vet, not a supplement. If your cat has a diagnosed condition, ask your vet before adding anything to their diet.
One level scoop (1 g, containing 500 mg of L-taurine) mixed into food once a day for an adult cat, or as your vet directs. For a cautious start with a picky eater, begin with a pinch and build up over a few days.
It's an unflavoured white powder. Most cats eat it without fuss when it's stirred into wet food or a spoonful of broth — but every cat is different, which is what the guarantee is for.
Taurine is water-soluble and is generally well tolerated at supplemental doses. Stick to the dose on the label, and check with your vet first if your cat is pregnant, nursing, under 12 weeks old or on medication.
